What's the issue?

Moving very quickly on from that I was shocked and amazed to see the total farce of the arms embargo against the Syrian rebels was lifted by the EU today. Arms have been flooding into the territory unabated for so long now, I thought they had done away with the pretence of an embargo. Obviously not, or maybe they just not making enough money from the weapons that are being sold into Syria and they need the volume of arms sales to increase exponentially. Of course they are a lot more intelligent than me so I need not explain just how the number of fatalities will only escalate with this new position the EU has taken. I also am quite convinced that they are aware of the statistics of how many of these fatalities will be found amongst women and children of the region. But hey, what is that but a mere statistic. They have a political agenda, much more important than a few innocent lives.

As we all suffer under leadership failures, the world over, the highlighting of how much money is spent on military budgets continues to sicken me to the bone. Then I read that the UK's leadership want to use the Woolwich attacks to divert funding from social welfare to security. That funny guy on TV showed a graph that indicated the US had spent $771 Billion on military, while China, Russia, the UK, France, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Italy, South Korea and Australia combined had spent just $670.9 Billion. I want to kneel in front of the big white telephone and call out to George, Ralf and Haraaaaaald, it is so sickening. I honestly believe that the job of President is too big for just one guy.

Coming back to the President issue, I was so inspired to hear Jacob talk about his disdain for the element of moral decay that seems to abound, I wonder if he was referring to Lindiwe Msengana-Ndlela's complaint that her position as Municipal Manager of Nelson Mandela Bay's municipality, has become untenable since she tried to expose tender corruption. Not amazing is the allegation that the harassment comes from the executive mayor and deputy mayor of the same municipality. Not a very good example, especially considering the municipality's name. I don't think that was what he was referring to somehow, but it was refreshing to hear him speak out about it. Even if some would say that he has been instrumental in engendering the very same element he speaks against.
