Richmond Group Chosen by Kohler

Gary has an infectious sense of humour and jokes about his challenging beginnings. Having put everything on the line when he was unexpectedly retrenched in 2000, he knew he could be successful if only he could convince the banks of his potential. After almost giving up, he struck gold when Ithala Bank gave him the necessary funds to finally start his own operation.

Speaking to Gary at the launch of Kohler in his warehouse in Shakas Head last Thursday, Gary said, "Richmond Plumbing and Sanware is honoured to be one of only two selected suppliers of the KOHLER brand in South Africa, yet another stylish addition to the premium product ranges found at Richmond. Recognised as a global leader in design and innovation, craftsmanship and technology, KOHLER provides customers with a path to more gracious living."

Richmond Group, named after his sons Richard and Raymond, has an impressive portfolio and carries leading sanitary ware brands. Richmond prides itself with combined staff experience in excess of 178 years in the industry. Gary credits his staff for most of his success.

"In the last fifteen years we have gained invaluable experience, our valuable staff enable us to provide the very best expertise on projects that range from a single bathroom refurbishment to major projects." Said Gary.

"Our supplier relationships, our ability to manage the roll-out of large scale projects as well as our hands-on approach, gives us a competitive advantage that translates into unmatched value for our clients." Gary Continued.

"Our passion for premium products and total commitment to excellence has transformed The Richmond Group into the partner of choice for both the public and the industry alike."

Speaking to Salil Sadanandan, KOHLER's Managing Director - Kitchen and Bath - Indian and Sub Saharan Africa, Salil confirmed his confidence in South Africa and the North Coast region. "Our history is one of invention. A pioneering spirit of ingenuity has defined Kohler Co. from its earliest days when John Michael Kohler launched a global plumbing company with a horse trough turned bathtub."

"A visionary, Kohler understood the importance of innovative design and an uncompromising commitment to craft and quality. Today we celebrate the grand opening of our KZN component and our partnership with Richmond Group. Together we bring leading innovation and design to the North Coast community, bolder than ever before."
