Swaadisht Foods Royale

Presenting the "Masters in Taste and Flavour"

Swaadisht Foods started its humble beginnings with its pilot store in Shallcross. In the spirit of true entrepreneurship, Mr Jay Rambulip, founder of the popular eatery, had a dream. He devised the concept of a family restaurant and take- away comprising of unique recipes, which has proven to be hugely successful. The result is a taste of the finest offerings.

Holding 3 jobs to make ends meet, he was definitely not afraid of any work, which portrayed his excellent work ethic. With the dream of success engraved in his being, he knew he was destined for success. Sadly, Mr Jay passed away last June from heart complications; he did not live long enough to see his sons' incredible success story.

The Rambulip brothers; Sanjay, Sanjeev and Rajeev developed the Rambulip Investment Group into an empire, with three Shell Garages, ten Swaadisht Restaurants and now partnering with Spar SA. Sanjay, who is responsible for running the various brands, has an evangelical approach to management and human relations.

"At Rambulip Investment Group, being a preferred employer is our core priority," said Sanjay.

"I believe that every person has the ability to bring out their greatness. Self development is key in our organisation." His 2021 vision includes franchising the Swaadisht Foods brand.

For many years, Swaadisht have been the bunny chow champions in KZN. Their pan-to-plate concept guarantees fresh food delivered to your table within five minutes. There is no waiting around here! The North Indian cuisine and their various dishes on offer is truly "Swaadisht" which, in Sanskrit translates "Tasty or Delicious".

"At Swaadisht, we continuously strive for improvement," said Sanjay.

"Our food is not meant to be "just good" - it is meant to be "excellent". Our focus on service delivery, and our taste and flavour is of paramount importance to us. We always knew that if we got the focus right - success will be bound to follow, hence we coined the phrase: "Masters in taste and flavour" which forms part of our slogan and is an integral element in our work culture".

Sanjay is not ashamed of his humble beginnings; he said that through hardship, coupled with his father's wise guidance, formulated and paved the way to his achievements and success.

One of the most important lessons his father taught him was to value people, without expecting anything in return.

"My father was a great man," said Sanjay, "He taught us that our word and our integrity is everything! He taught us how to work smart and portrayed to us his exemplary work ethic, which we quickly caught on to. Life was tough for Mr Jay, but his family always remained his top priority.
