Dr. Anneline Maistry has been a qualified medical practitioner for the past 20 years, she completed her MBBS in Kathmandu. After completing her studies Anneline returned to South Africa where she worked as a medical practitioner for eight years and later opened up her private practice where she's been ever since. Anneline is a highly qualified GP with many diplomas under her belt.

"My experience both in public and private sector, has given me an insight that modern medicine is evolving at a very rapid pace." Anneline told The Bugle, "Patients knowledge of their conditions is expanding and new treatments are coming to forefront. Our patients are using web searches, social media and Dr. Google instead of consulting with health care professionals. So where does that leave us?"

Anneline continues; "From my first day at medical school we were trained in treating any medical conditions with our knowledge in anatomy, physiology, pathology etc. we always work in the best interest of our patients and we need to attain an informed consent. So this is why I have immense interest and belief in the IV Therapy."

Intravenous (IV)- is a therapy that delivers liquid substances directly into a vein, the fastest way to achieve intended benefit as it bypasses the digestive system. IV therapy has been a part of medicine for a century. Intravenous technology was first published in 1883 by Dr. Thomas Latta during a cholera epidemic in Britain. The standard IV use of saline solutions did not begin until 1902. Intravenous therapy was further developed in the 1930s but was not widely available until the 1950s.

Traditionally, IV is given in the hospital setting. Today, more and more medical practitioners are incorporating IV treatments outside of hospital because the procedure has been proven to be safe and patients don't want the high costs of hospital visits.

IV Nutrient Therapy is designed for delivering vitamins and minerals, along with fluid replacement directly into the circulation, achieving the maximum benefit of these nutrients.

Dr. Myers, a late physician from Baltimore, pioneered the use of intravenous (IV) vitamins and minerals as part of the overall treatment of various medical conditions.Ê

While there are many places where you can get your shot of preferred vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants, its important to keep in mind that it is still a medical procedure that affects your health.

Dr. Anneline Maistry advises that a person who embarks on this treatment should be well informed. As with any medication, IV therapy can cause side effects for some people. That's why it's so important to receive treatment from qualified staff that can monitor your body's reactions.

Various side effects from the prescribed vitamins themselves can also happen. To avoid these side effects, it's important to tell your doctor about any medications or supplements you take and reactions you've had in the past."

Dr. Anneline Maistry advises; "It is important to remember, no matter what dosage is administered and how tempting it may be to get a 'Quick Fix' our bodies will only take what is required on that session and excrete the rest in what we call expensive Urine." Said Dr Maistry

"There is no quick fix in IV Therapy, we need to be real and patient Ð a holistic approach with IV Therapy is a safe way to keep you healthy and fully functioning." Concluded Dr. Anneline Maistry.
