What's The Issue?

I could not express my joy when I heard that our Health Minister, Jo e Phaahla, recommends the scrapping of Covid-19 regulations, mainly the wearing of facemasks, as he says we are over the 5th wave. I am not sure if I can go on forgetting my mask anymore.

However just as some sanity seemed to peep out of its hiding place, the madness continued to erupt like a big pustule under pressure.

Instead of negotiating a diplomatic settlement to the Ukrainian crisis, Western leaders continue to add fuel to the fire, continue to ignore the "elephant in the room" that is the cause of the military conflict and the American agenda just floats on in Europe.

With the Germans continuing to send lethal weapons into Ukraine and America upending their war chest in their efforts to fight to last Ukrainian. While they continue their agenda, you can't help expecting the announcement from President Vladimir Putin, saying that they are deploying their S-500 air defence system.

Putin recently boasted about his highly advanced air-defence system saying it is the most advanced and that it being a long range system, it could target missiles, aircraft, even satellites. Vladimir went on to say that "it has no equal in the world." The sabre rattling is so pathetic, but NA TO will not withdraw its intentions so Putin has no option, the war will intensify.

Whomever out there that doesn't know that this is just America making money, put up your hand.

Speaking of sanity peeping out from its hiding place, some male swimmers were actually prevented from competing against female swimmers in a move I support, but then, a sixty six year old British man was turned away from donating blood because he refused to provide his pregnancy status. There goes sanity scurrying out of sight once more.

Then the million-dollar scandal broke all over Cyril's presidency. Too much money can be a bad thing, especially if you leave it in your couch. Then we read headlines saying "Zondo, Ramaphosa deny collusion on release of state capture report" and now we cannot be the ones who are shocked anymore. Cyril's detractors smell blood and they are after him. "Those screaming the loudest for Ramaphosa to go are those who are the most afraid of the closing net" says Business Day. That must be the Zondo Report net, which is now a few days or weeks late. My eyes are tearing up.

In desperate need of distraction, I read through the six major findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), only to have to read through them again to make sure I got it right. Basically 1, It's here and more than we expected 2, We gonna feel it more soon 3, It's gonna get worse and irreversible 4, Our humanness is making it worse 5, We are adapting but not fast enough and 6, It's already too late for much of the damage, we gotta fix it.

You go do your bit.
