Nestled amongst the palms this boutique hotel offers the ultimate coastal escape with 5-star service, tranquillity, and a focus on wellness. Enjoy private access to a protected tidal pool and swimming beach, explore rocky expanses and secluded coves, or partake in surfing, deep sea fishing or golf on one of the 3 nearby courses.

The beach house features 4 guestrooms and 3 suites with a fresh, coastal-inspired palette and 180-degree sea views. A 3-bedroom Villa boasts its own pool, living area and kitchen with a private butler and chef service. Sala Beach House compliments the safari experiences offered in the Zululand Reserves just 3 hours north.

Besides the various beach activities on offer, the pace gears down, providing an opportunity to rest and unwind and to enjoy the wellness offerings. An African-inspired Spa offers Terres d'Afrique treatments with botanical ingredients, which are hand-harvested from across the African continent.

The design team led was led by Durban-based Paul Nel of Paul Nel Architects and local Landscape Architect Bernice Rumble of Land Art Studio. Their brief was to create a relaxed, yet sophisticated, contemporary North Coast Beach House set in sub-tropical gardens which reflect the vegetation along the coastline. Elements and textures of local stone, timber, glass, and clay have been incorporated into the architecture, complimenting the lush green foliage and beautiful hues of the Indian Ocean views.

Renowned interior designer Boyd Ferguson, Creative Director of C?cile & Boyd (best known for their impressive interiors at the premier Singita safari lodges) used rugged textures and earthy tones to create a sense of harmony.

Sala Beach House is situated at 75 Ocean Drive, Shaka's Rock.
