De-opinionatedBy Transformational Facilitator Christo BarnardThe other day I was listening to a talk, and the presenter said something that that caught my attention and triggered the need to contemplate. To become present and look at the idea or thought from all angles, to sit with it , walk with it, let it mull and allow it to become clear and the essence to be revealed . The presenter said that most of us are so full of opinions and that it weighs us down as the load is heavy and sometimes too much to bear.I immediately took a pause, a deep breath and realized that I am holding a truck load of opinions inside myself about people, situations and myself that is irrelevant and unnecessary. Looking closer was even more of an eye opener, most of it was very far removed from the truth! As I am passionate about the awakening of awareness and using the breath as a tool to bring us to a place of stillness and peace, I started consciously observing my thoughts relating to opinions and letting go of them before they become comfortable in their discomfort and lodge themselves permanently in my mind. I breathe them out, I let them go! Because the moment you start feeding them, they multiply at a rapid speed and if you dare to share it with others that are on the same page as you in the soap opera, you sit with full-blown drama. And drama and the addiction thereof is a reality and real threat to a healthy peaceful existence, and all because of opinions. There is nothing wrong with opinions per se and sometimes it is required, but best to stay in awareness and use it with discernment.A friend of mine gifted me with the word de-opinionated, I know it does not exist, but it sits so comfortably and captures that what is needed at this time of our lives and more specifically at the beginning of a new year. Everybody is contemplating diet and lifestyle changes, how about adding de-opinionated to the mix and specifically all the negative thoughts and opinions that we hold about ourselves??..

Getting on the right track with Tracey Fowler Enneagram System Life CoachTracey Fowler was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and moved to Johannesburg at 13 years old. She is a proud mother of two wonderful grown-up children, and a beautiful daughter-in-law and will soon become a grandmother to her first grandchild. Her enthusiasm and passion for people have afforded her the opportunity to change many lives, equipping all with the tools they require to be the best version of themselves.Being human is hard. And a hard truth to accept is that we will never graduate from the human experience. More so than often, Tracey found herself seeking an endpoint - a destination of some kind that tells her that she's "made it". The discovery of reaching a place where she has finally figured out how not to be a person debilitated with flaws, aches and blind spots - call it a transcendence of the human experience. Still, after all these years, Tracey has found that most of life's turmoil comes from fighting the reality that we are all human and whether we like it or not, life is full of ups and downs and in-betweens. Tracey has found a way to navigate and articulate a path to self through a cue in the Enneagram System - a life-altering and tool that helps us fast-track our process to self-discovery. The Enneagram System is a map of the human psyche that guides us to come face-to-face with our blind spots - the areas of our personality that show up over again - often without our full awareness. All human beings have blind spots. No one is beyond having behaviours that we are not one hundred percent aware of. This process can feel vulnerable and challenging and can be uncomfortable to admit to ourselves and especially, others. What would usually take decades to learn - can be seen, acknowledged, understood and addressed with the Enneagram. The Enneagram System has enabled Tracey to expand her offering to include positive coaching and inducement for children, teenagers and families over and above individuals and teams in the business world. Tracey has incorporated a plethora of experience as a CEO in the corporate world, her comprehensive understanding and trust for the Enneagram system and her passion for people into the work she does. She boasts an excellent track record in the corporate space by strengthening leaders, transforming teams and building positive organisational culture in which every employee is recognised for their true potential. Tracey?s love for the Enneagram runs deeper than only corporate coaching. Her portfolio includes positive coaching and inducement for children, teens, and families alike ? proving that the Enneagram is a cathartic tool for anyone seeking to understand themselves holistically and recognise their strengths and weaknesses alike. She passionately believes that there is freedom on the other side of knowing our unconscious behavioural patterns that can increase our ability to relate to the world from a brutally honest and whole state of mind. This is one of the key steps to full acceptance, integrated confidence, and self-trust. If you are aware of your blind spots and are proactive in holding a space for them, this can't be "found out", because you already know.
