A WINDOW ONTO NATURE'S WORLD A SHARED REVELATION AND NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS 2024

Christmas and the New Year Festive season have been celebrated to the accompaniment of thunderstorms crashing, heavy rainfall splashing into torrents, and strong winds lashing the Coast and inland. Amidst all this climatic fury a circulating video reveals the unique electricity within our garden Petunia and no doubt our indigenous species such as Asystasia gangetica (Creeping Foxglove), Strelitzia reginae (Crane Flower)and bright orange Clivia clusters. The Petunia rooted to the ground presents a small negative charge, but higher up the stem the electric charge is greater and creates a charge with an electric energy field around the flower, invisible to the human eye. This produces a high-pitched sound not audible to the human ear. Bees have a positive charge, but friction during flight causes them to loose electrons. When the bee approaches the flower the sound around the flower changes, and when the bee lands the two fields cancel out each other.Simultaneously, there is an amazing reaction with the negatively charged pollen jumping across to the positively charged bee. The flower without its pollen has a changed electrical field which is picked up by the next visiting bee who receives the negative signal and avoids the plant. Amazing! Pollination achieved by our bees and insects will ensure an on-going abundance of fruits and seeds produced for birds, bats, mammals and our informal gatherers. Natural and uncontaminated cultivation provides a resource not only for food, but for Health-giving herbal remedies, many handed down through the ages for the benefit of mankind.

In our commercially driven world Audit formality to review the year's success with Profit and Loss Assessments is conducted by the qualifiedAccountant with high remuneration for his analysis performance. In agriculture the dairy farmer achieves assessment through official monthly Milk Recording and Butter-fat Analysis. For commercial Forestry the growing timber's SiteQuality is rated by readings giving the number of trees per hectare, the height, and average growth at chest height. Alas where are the Annual AuditProcedures, to protect our Natural Environment and "Green Habitat"-for the benefit of all? Positive steps during 2023 need recognition. For example, the laying of new pipelines for Sewer and Stormwater at Umdhloti, at last provide functioning facilities, with Indigenous Rehabilitation completed.Alas 2022 Flood Damage in many areas awaits Repair and Rehabilitation, with ongoing increase in damage and related costs. Our Roadways and bridges have collapsed, potholes abound, we suffer on-going Power Outages and many communities are crying out for a potable Water Supply. Tourism has suffered due to E.coli levels of extreme concern, present in flowing water and unacceptable evacuation recorded into the ocean.

Our Resolutions for 2024 rest with FOUR BASIC ELEMENTS, namely, theQuality of our Soil and Air, Controls relevant to Fire Protection and ExtremeAttention to the Quality and supply of POTABLE WATER. Dr. Anthony Turton's WARNINGS with regard to the WATER CRISIS appear to fail on the deaf ears ofLeadership. The El Nino cycle will ensure the arrival of the next drought when like frogs, we will surely croak in vain, around a dried up lily pond or perhaps the Hazelmere Dam!

Urgent qualified Environmental Audit and focus is required on a SiteSpecific" basis to identify the conservation of the Garden, Complex,Estate or Public Area. To include Soil Quality Improvement incorporating top-grade organic compost and additives, up-grading Biodiversity of indigenous species to entertain trees for shade, flowering shrubs for birds and bees, grasses, ground covers to reduce erosion and new succulents for the next drought.

An Air pollution audit to reduce contamination. A mandate for StormwaterCAPTURE and CONTROLS and Rehabilitation offering a qualified Team Approach with a minimum 10-year proven track record of success is essential to meet the needs of "Climate Change". Finally, urgent appointment of a WATER CRISISTeam of top experts, to bring in "The Fresh Water Scheme of 2024" to be a legal priority and bring clean water to every home..
