Through my eyes

This weak economy has been very trying on many businesses and individuals. People are resorting to drastic meassures to keep up the appearances instead of just admiting that life has changed and will probably never be the same again.

If you are in business, you must be feeling the pinch. You must also be fighting all the crooks out there who are renaiging to pay their accounts and are running off with your money. Its a vicious cycle, people think that next month they will be able to catch up and make up the loss. In reality, the loss is lost and for many its time to down scale and get use to a smaller life, whatever it means to you.

I found that people have lost respect for one another and it no longer has much meaning. Empty promises, false assurances and lies are what many individuals are resorting to. And there is no end in sight for the economic upturn.

Respect, the word itself means a lot more than it can specify. For instance, respect can be for your own self and it can be for others but once you have it in you, it stays until the person does something when he loses it all.

Respecting someone's point of view and ideas also signifies a unique kind of relationship that one can have with someone. For example, respecting someone does not mean that you have to follow that person's decisions and actions blindly just for the sake of it, it simply means that you genuinely respect their choices and perception about something without judging them for the choices that they have made and for the kind of person that they are. Because ultimately, we are what we think and we become what we perceive and choose.

Respecting someone simply means you feel it in your heart that the person is what they are because they have made some choices and they have chosen a particular path that led them where they are today and you appreciate them for that. Be it to have the guts to follow their dreams, be it the different path that one has opted to stand out of the crowd, it takes a lot of faith and determination to risk your life over something that can turn your world upside down.

In the end, all that matters is what we think of ourselves as it is also one kind of respectful relationship that we need to have with ourselves. We can respect everyone, we can follow their path and we can learn from them but if we do not have faith in ourselves, we can not respect our choices and we can not follow the path of our choice.

For everybody else to believe in us, first we need to believe in ourselves. For everybody else to believe in our dreams and respect our choices, first we need to respect our choices. That is something that we require to be what we want to be so that we can become what we want to become.

When you give respect to yourself, only then you set standards for others to respect you. You can stand up for your self-respect which leads you to know your self-worth which is very important.

Whatever decisions you make in your life, whatever you decide to do, do it with respect, respect firstly for yourself and then respect for the other person. Pay your debtors first before you pull in the MacDonalds. Pay your staff before you pay yourself. Respect your fellow humanrespect for all of you out there.
